Vikramshila
Transforming Education Through Technology

For over three decades, Vikramshila has been at the forefront of teacher education and curriculum development, shaping the way learning happens across India. Recognized by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) as a national-level technical agency, Vikramshila has trained over 30,000 government school teachers, ensuring that high-quality education reaches even the most underserved communities.
Through its work, Vikramshila has developed a deep understanding of teacher professional development—spanning from early childhood to secondary education—and has collaborated with government agencies to strengthen the education system at scale.
How Rukmani Trust Strengthened Their Mission
Since January 1, 2021, Rukmani Trust has been supporting Vikramshila's Integrated Approach to Technology in Education (ITE) for Government Madrasahs—a Tata Trusts initiative resourced by Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai.
The ITE program integrates technology into education, ensuring that teachers and students in madrasas can leverage digital tools to enhance learning, improve engagement, and bridge the urban-rural education divide.
Impact at Scale
When the COVID-19 crisis disrupted traditional learning, Rukmani Trust stepped in to ensure that students and teachers could continue their education despite school closures. Our funding helped Vikramshila expand its efforts, bringing technology-based learning solutions to those who needed them most.
Join the Movement
At Rukmani Trust, we believe in empowering educators—because strong teachers create strong futures. By supporting Vikramshila, we are investing in a future where every child, regardless of background, has access to quality education.
