Rural India

Rukmani Trust was founded with a commitment to India’s rural heartland, where nearly 70% of our population resides. Despite its size and importance, this vast segment often lacks access to quality education, resources, and opportunities—sharpening the divide between rural and urban India. We see rural India not as a challenge, but as a landscape of immense potential. With the right support, tools, and access, rural communities can ignite meaningful and lasting change.

Bridging the Digital Divide

We bridge the digital divide by introducing technology-enabled learning for children and skill-building initiatives for adults. Our programs have expanded digital access—especially for women and girls in rural India—enabling them to learn, grow, and participate confidently in an increasingly digital world. Girl Child Development

Gender-based inequalities are stark across India, and in rural areas these disparities deepen.
