In the heart of rural West Bengal, Suchana is transforming education for Santhali and Kora Adivasi children and other marginalized communities. How Rukmani Trust Strengthened Their Mission
In November 2020, recognizing Suchana's innovative approach, Rukmani Trust partnered with them to support their Integrated Technology in Education (ITE) program. This pioneering initiative makes digital tools an integral part of middle school education, helping to bridge the urban-rural education divide—where limited infrastructure, scarce resources, and a lack of trained teachers often hinder learning outcomes.
Through ITE:
- Students use technology to create learning artifacts, making education interactive and engaging.
- Teachers design culturally relevant lessons, ensuring that learning remains connected to students' experiences.
- The urban-rural education gap is addressed, providing quality resources and training that would otherwise be inaccessible in remote communities.
With Rukmani Trust's support, Suchana has brought child-centered, technology-enhanced education to over 2,000 students—many of whom previously had little access to structured learning. The program's mobile outreach model ensures that even children in the most remote villages are not left behind.
