Across rural India, brilliant young girls achieve top scores in their board exams, yet their dreams of higher education remain out of reach due to financial hardship. While their urban counterparts eagerly prepare for college, many talented students in villages face a stark reality: without financial support, college is simply not an option.
Gold Heart Foundation (GHF) was founded to change this. The organization is committed to ensuring that economic limitations do not stifle potential, empowering underprivileged students through higher education, skill development, and career opportunities. Recognizing the transformative power of education, Rukmani Trust partnered with GHF to provide scholarships and career support to deserving students—especially young women from low-income, single-parent, and daily-wage-earning families.
The Siragugal Scholarship: Giving Wings to Dreams
GHF's flagship initiative, Siragugal (which means 'wings' in Tamil), is designed to help meritorious students pursue higher education despite financial constraints. The scholarship program goes beyond tuition & provides support for -
- Academic mentorship
- Skill development training
- Career placement assistance
The selection process is rigorous, ensuring that only the most committed students benefit:
- Meeting a minimum academic cut-off
- Psychometric and aptitude testing
- Face-to-face interviews to assess motivation and commitment to giving back to society
Since 2021, Rukmani Trust has been the principal donor for the Siragugal Scholarship, enabling students to continue their higher education.
But our support extends beyond tuition—our goal is to ensure that education translates into real career opportunities.

Meet Atshaya – A Siragugal scholar from a rural village near Manapparai, Tamil Nadu. Raised by a single mother, she pursued higher education with the support of Rukmani Trust.
Today, she has secured a job at NATWEST Gurugram through the UPLIFT CSR initiative, proving that talent, when nurtured, can create life-changing opportunities.
She is just one of many. Out of 13 GHF students who interviewed for non-technical roles, 4 secured placements, while 15 others await results for technical positions. These young women are not just earning degrees—they are breaking the cycle of poverty and becoming role models in their communities.
